RECYCLING OF LEACHATE IN GREENHOUSES
One of the main problems in soiless horticulture
is the large quantities of water wasted as leachate. This water
contains high concentration of expensive fertilizers, resulting
in financial loss and ecological damage to ground water.
More and more countries forbid draining the leachate, unless it
complies with the standards of water quality; and growers are
forced to treat the leachate in order to meet this requirement.
The GreenPoint system offered by ODIS can save the
water and fertilizers by treating 100% of leachate and then reclaiming
it for use in irrigation of the greenhouse.
The GreenPoint advanced technology was developed
in collaboration with leading soiless horticulture experts; it
is based on more than 10 years experience in designing and manufacturing
of various water-recycling systems.

Advantages
- High return on investment
by saving water and fertilizers
- Environmental protection
- Minimal maintenance
- Modularity
- Fully automatic system
- High reliability
Process description
- Preliminary separation:
removal of sand and suspended solids by 5000 series hydrocyclone.
- Filtration: removal of
suspended solids, turbidity and microorganisms by MM-SPA
series multimedia filters filled with layered media.
- Disinfection: Destruction
of microorganisms and prevention of water contamination.
ODIS supplies different disinfection technologies, such
as UV (specially designed for disinfection of filtered
wastewater), Chlorination or Ozonation according to customer's
request.
- Operation and control:
The system is fully automatic and is operated by PLC.
The PLC controller receives inputs from different gauges
(pressure, level, conductivity and pH) and activates the
system accordingly.
