Compact Drinking Water Treatment
Plant

Features
- Designed to supply high quality and safe drinking
water from various water sources with high turbidity.
- Heavy-duty unit, designed to operate in
field conditions.
-
Factory built and delivered
skid mounted or in steel shell package (containers), convenient
for transportation and requiring minimal on-site assembly
and installation work. This prefabricated construction and
ODIS manufacturing capacity offer a speedy delivery (the plants
may be delivered via airfreight) and installation of plants
with different capacities and a lot of varieties for flocculation,
filtration and disinfection.
- Based on standard and customized improved
design criteria.
Cost saving technology, simplicity and reliability
of performances are its main characteristics.
- Integrates conventional physico-chemical
treatment of raw water by coagulation-flocculation, solids removal
by settling (optional), filtration and disinfecting
- Able to treat water with a variable and
broad range of suspended solids and turbidity from various sources
like rivers, lakes, channels etc.
- Produces safe, quality drinking water having
an effluent quality assurance that meets drinking water standards.
- Fully automatic, all operating modes are
controlled by Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).
System Description
The plant ensures a reliable approach for standard
processes and customized needs. The typical flow configuration
consists of coarse solids separation, chemical addition, primary
filtration in single media filters, and fine filtration of the
water in deep bed multi media filters.
The filtered water is disinfected using hypochlorite solution.
Provision for the special chemical feed may be ordered.
- Primary Separation: Takes place in cyclonic
separators (5000 Series Hydrocyclones) and clarifier/flocculator
tanks. The sand and coarse solids separated by Hydrocyclones
are drained through an automatic valve.
- Coagulation: Coagulant is injected ahead
of the cyclonic separator in order to destabilize the colloidal
particles in suspension and to bring about agglomeration (optional,
according to raw water quality).
- Primary Media Filtration: Performed by an
array of granular media filters with a layer of crushed basalt
to reduce a contamination load in water and prevent clogging
of multi media deep bed filters.
- Multimedia Depth Filtration: Performed by
an array of multimedia filters with high depth media bed for
final effluent polish at relatively low filtration rate.
- Disinfection: Injects hypochlorite to remove
all pathogenic microorganisms from the treated water. The disinfecting
unit is fully automatic and controlled by residual chlorine
controller.
- Automation and Control: The systems are
equipped with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) which supervises
the entire automatic functioning of the separation and filtration
process. The systems backwash automatically by P or when a preset
time interval elapses.
WaterPoint installation requires:
- Power connection (electrical energy supply).
The plants may be ordered with diesel generator
- Connection of piping system (for raw water
supply, filtered water distribution and drainage)
